The Science of Exosomes in Aesthetics

Exosomes, tiny vesicles packed with growth factors, microRNAs, and proteins, drive cellular communication for skin repair and hair growth. Dr. Gonzalez recalls a pivotal moment in 2008: “We noticed mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) changed phenotypes when co-cultured with neural cells, revealing exosomes’ role in cell cross-talk.” Experiments also showed MSCs could secrete high molecular weight hyaluronic acid under specific conditions, confirming exosomes’ potential for aesthetic treatments.
